William “Billy” Glen Burke, October 25, 1945~February 20, 2026.

Our dear brother Billy Burke went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2026.

Billy was a beloved member of the Clendenin Community for the last 30 years and was a member of the Clendenin United Methodist Church. He was baptized in a United Methodist Church many years ago and found a church family that loved him very much here in Clendenin.

If you wanted to see Billy, you could find him wherever there was food, coffee and fellowship. Billy loved his community and all the people in it. The Clendenin Senior Center was a place Billy visited daily (except when they had fish) and was an important part of his daily routine, he loved everyone there very much.

Billy Burke proudly served his community as a Town Councilman and supported the Town of Clendenin any way he could. Every Halloween he dressed up in his famous Gorilla costume and treated the children during Trick or Treat. His presence and smile is sorely missed by all who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Jacqueline Romjue Burke and his dog who he loved dearly, Wildman. Billy leaves behind a community of dear friends and a church family who was very thankful God led him our way.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Clendenin United Methodist Church on Sunday May 24, 2026, at 1pm, with Reverend Stewart Cottrell officiating. After the Service we will gather in the Fellowship Hall and have lunch in his honor (his favorite church meal was Pancakes and Sausage). We would like to thank the Stump-Matics Funeral Home for all they did to help in this difficult time.

In leu of flowers, you can send donations to the Town of Clendenin Senior Center, 4 1st St, Clendenin, WV 25045, which was a place he loved and gave him many dear friends.

Stump-Matics Funeral Home, 8539 Elk River Road North, Clendenin, WV, is honored to assist the friends of Billy in honoring his memory. Online condolences and fond memories can be shared at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
