Ms. Martha Taylor, 81, of Nitro, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Martha was a devoted member of Dunbar First Church of God. She worked at C & O Motors and J.C. Penney before spending the last 18 years at King’s Way Christian EduCare, where she dearly loved the children she cared for and considered them part of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Edna Taylor; brothers, Carl, Paul, Robert, and John Taylor; and sisters, Virginia, Katie, and Mary Jane.
Martha is survived by her special nieces and nephews and their families; special friends, Susie and Kathy; and her beloved daycare family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Dunbar Center for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Martha.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to King’s Way Christian EduCare, P.O. Box 307, Nitro, WV 25143.
A tribute to the life of Martha will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Megan Cloninger officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
