Maysel Carr, 88, of Ivydale, West Virginia, passed peacefully on May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 5, 1937, to the late Bessie and French Sears.
Maysel was a lifelong Christian whose faith guided her throughout her life. She found great comfort in reading her Bible, especially Psalm 23, and enjoyed spending quiet time doing word searches. More than anything, she loved being with her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Carr; her son, Ronald Carr; her parents, Bessie and French Sears; and many beloved brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Misty, and her son-in-law, Chester Boggs; grandchildren Jacob, Jonathan, Justin, Taygan, Brooke, and Bailey; granddaughter-in-laws Abbie and Savannah; grandson-in-law Tristan; future granddaughter-in-law Jordan; her grandson Justin’s beloved companion, Jaden; and her cherished great-grandchildren ReaLynn, Enzley, Lincoln, Hayden, Kade, Tatum, whom she lovingly called “her sweetie,” Lyla, and Pierson, whom she lovingly called “Precious.”
A funeral services will be held at Stump-Matics Funeral Home, 8539 Elk River Road North, Clendenin, WV, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., with Preacher Sebby Volpe officiating. With family visitation from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Interment will follow in McLaughlin Cemetery, Duck, WV.
