Kathryn Ruth McGhee, 71, of Poca, WV passed away June 17, 2026, and is now healed and no longer in pain in Heaven with Jesus.
She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Kathryn Walls, her son Micheal Keith McGhee II, brother Tommy and Danny Walls, sister Debbie Walls, and nephew Tommy Walls.
She is survived by her husband Michael Keith McGhee, daughters Kathryn and Michelle McGhee, granddaughter Ashleigh McGhee Taylor and her husband Josh Taylor. She had a total of seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Kathryn was a 1972 graduate from South Charleston High School. She worked for GMC Truck & Coach in Michigan from 1972-1974, C+P Bell Telephone company from 1974-1976, then Union Carbide from 1976-1978. She then became a stay-at-home mom until 1986 when she went back to work at Union Carbide, and Bayer Crop Science where she then retired in 2011.
If you knew Kathy, she always had a smile on her face, and was kind to anyone she was around, and always wanting to help people. She loved her family more than anything. She loved her flowers, her hummingbirds, and having family out at the house with her.
She was a member of Poca Baptist Church.
There will be a Memorial Celebration of Life for family & friends at a later date.
