**Benjamin Arlie Parsons Sr., 68, of Nitro, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Benjamin was a 1976 graduate of Elk Valley Christian School and spent many years working as a contractor carrying on a tradition of craftsmanship and integrity he learned growing up working with his father. He took great pride in the things he built and was always willing to use his skills to help family, friends, and community. He was also dedicated to his faith and his church and he cherished the fellowship and friendships he found there. Benjamin was also known for his sense of humor and his love of family, with whom he could sit for hours talking about work he had done, his grandchildren, or that time he got to drive around Miss America in 1989.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Delores Parsons, his brother Richard Parsons, and his sister Pamela Thomas.
He is survived by his two sons Benjamin Jr and wife Jenny Parsons of Charleston, and Travis and wife Hannah Parsons of South Charleston; his grandchildren Tyler, Samantha, Makenzie, Cordelia, Dean, Hermione, Savannah, and Star; his great-grandson Samson; his brothers Guy, Daniel, Joe, John, Drew, and his sister Kathy
Respecting his wishes the family will celebrate his life privately.
