Jack Donald Adkins, 97, of Eskdale passed away July 18, 2026 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was a retired railroad brakeman with the C&O Railroad Company, loved to go fishing and an United States Marine Corps. Veteran of both the WWII and Korean War.
Preceding him in death were his first wife Leona Adkins; second wife, Aretha Adkins; son, Kenneth Petry; sister, Frances Border and parents, Roy and Birdie Spaulding Adkins.
Surviving are his daughters, Ramona Freeman (Herman) of Dawes, Ruth Nidy (Robert) of Eskdale and grandchildren, Matthew Freeman, Leslie Michaelson (Dale), Stacy Pullens (Sam), Tracy Rodriguez (Charley Martin), Amy Stone (Andy), Candace Rose (Jeremy) and Robbie Petry (Julie).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his grandchildren and caregivers, Tracy Rodriguez and Charley Martin.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026 in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow with Pastor Jason Perdue officiating.
