Rena Jo Brewer Ferrell (“Jodie”) went home to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 26, 2026.
Jodie was a family-oriented, loving wife, bonus mom, sister, aunt, and the best Mawmaw anyone could imagine. She was a faithful Christian woman and a devoted member of Poca Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Joe Ray and Mary Lou Brewer; her paternal grandparents, George Ray and Irene Truett Brewer; and her maternal grandparents, Wert Evans and Olive Spence Evans.
She is survived by her loving husband, William David Ferrell (“Dave”); her bonus children, Kayla Ferrell (Kenneth Smith) and Daniel Ferrell (Tasha Taylor); her beloved grandchildren, Paityn, Olivia, Bailey, and Abby; her sister, Teresa Lou Brewer Shockley (Everett Shockley); her nieces, Amber Whitman, Chrissy Watson (Desrel Sneed), and Jordan Shockley; her great-niece, Sadie Whitman; her great-nephew, Liam Watson; as well as many cherished friends and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Poca Baptist Church on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 6:00 pm for all who knew and loved Jodie to come together in remembrance of her life and faith.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out with prayers, love, and support. They also wish to thank the staff of Best Care Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio, and SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio, for the compassionate care they provided.
