Mr. Robert Browning, Jr., 63, of Nitro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at CAMC Memorial Division.
Born on June 23, 1963, Robert was a lifelong resident of the Nitro community, a place he was proud to call home. He retired from Nitro Auto and Tire after 23 years of dedicated service, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly personality.
Robert found his greatest happiness in the simple things in life. He loved spending time fishing and treasured every moment shared with his family. His greatest joy was being surrounded by those he loved, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 23 years, Beverly; his sons, Robert Stanley and his wife, Cylee, and Joshua Hinkle; his grandson, Alex Lane, whom he lovingly raised as a son; his sister, Brenda Gillispie; his brothers, Bobby Smith and Ernie Browning; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Robert’s life from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel.
