Joy Lynn O’Dell, 47, of Glen, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, surrounded by family.
Joy was born on August 24, 1978, in Weston, West Virginia, to the late Gene and Judy (Peggs) O’Dell.
She was known for her love of singing, Halloween, and her family.
Joy is survived by her children, Phoebe and Phelina Layne, her twin sister Jill Aplin and their siblings, several nieces and nephews; and her best friend who never left her side, Veronica Withrow.
A funeral service will be held at Stump-Matics Funeral Home, 8539 Elk River Road North, Clendenin, WV, on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be Monday, from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
