James Michael Farley, 83 of Chelyan, WV, passed away peacefully at Hubbard Hospice House on October 13, 2026, after a short illness.
He was born on July 13th, 1943, in Charleston, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Arabelle Farley, wife Sharon Farley of 60 years. Daughter Johanna Combs and great-granddaughter Kaycie Mezzanotte.
He was a Veteran from the United States Navy, and he was a Boilermaker with Local Union 667. He loved to go to Swap Meets and Car Shows to get truck parts for the antique trucks he restored. He also loved to be outside in his garage working to put together his masterpieces of the antique trucks, which had been said he was a perfectionist when it came to details.
Left to cherish his memory is Daughter Virginia “Jenny” Estep (Jerry) of Chelyan, WV. Grandchildren Brian and Julie Estep of Hernshaw, WV, Carly and Matt Bowles of Sissonville, WV, Bradley and Iryna Estep of Jacksonville, Florida, Taylor and Jason Hager of St. Albans. Great-Granddaughters Chelsea Bowles, Katie Mezzanotte, Kaylie Mezzanotte. Great-Granson Aaron Ryan Estep and another on the way in January 2027.
Services will be held at 1PM on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Cooke Funeral Home, Cedar Grove, WV with Rev Brenda Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow. Visitation will be held from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the funeral home.
Family would like to thank the staff at Hubbard Hospice House for the excellent care they provided to the family during this time.
