Ethel Amelia Black of Elkview passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at home with family. She was born in South Hampton, LI, NY.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thomas L. Black; her parents, John & Marion Kluge; along with one brother and sister; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Ethel was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a 50 plus year member of Chelyan Eastern Star. She also enjoyed her church, singing in the choir, traveling, and shopping.
She is survived by her children, Thom (Caryn) Black, Patty (Harry) Childress, Paul (Guyla) Black, Micki (John) Mitchell, Thomas (Helen) Talbert, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
The service will begin at 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Susan Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at the funeral home.
