Mr. Tony Sutherland, 64, of Scott Depot, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 12, 2026, at his home, with his wife by his side.
Tony was a retired truck driver and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hurricane, where he found fellowship, strength in his faith, and served on the security team. Tony served in the Coast Guard and Army and he was also a proud member of Masonic Lodge No. 139, Scottish Rite, and Beni Kedem. Tony will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his faith in the Lord, and the friendships he cherished throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert Lee Sutherland and Leona Fay Sutherland.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Mrs. Billie Sutherland; his daughter, Jennifer Fay Sutherland; his two grandchildren, Joseph Laughery and Weston Persinger; brother Phil Sutherland; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
A tribute to the life of Tony Sutherland will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Hurricane, with Pastor Jeff Davenport officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens in Red House, West Virginia.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Tony’s life was a testament to his faith, his love for his family, and the meaningful connections he made along the way. Though he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, his memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in the eternal peace of his Heavenly Father.
