Sandra Hizer Kidd, a woman of profound faith and boundless devotion, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026. Born in Charleston, WV, to the late Wesley and Christine Hizer, Sandra lived a life defined by a resilient spirit and a heart that loved without measure. She was, in every sense, the glue that held her family together.
For over thirty years, Sandra shared a life of deep commitment with her husband, Robert E. Kidd. Robert was her loyal anchor, providing exceptional care for his beautiful wife—a true testament to the deep love they shared. As a mother, Sandra’s world revolved around her daughter, Ashley M. Kidd of Elkview. Ashley was her “reason for everything,” and Sandra raised her with the same fierce love and grace she carried in her own soul.
A meticulous homemaker, Sandra took pride in creating a welcoming sanctuary for those she held dear. She found joy in life’s simple treasures, especially her favorite Saturday morning tradition: yard saleing with her niece and partner-in-crime, Lisa Monroe (Archie). Those mornings were the highlights of their week. Sandra also cherished time spent on her houseboat at Sutton Lake, where she deeply valued the sunshine and the wonderful friendships she made on the water. Her vast compassion extended to all living creatures, and she will be deeply missed by her beloved fur babies: Connor, Missy, Willow, Lady, Grayson, and Scooter.
Sandra is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; her daughter, Ashley; and her siblings, Linda (Larry) Anderson, Bobby Hizer, and Julia Siders. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who absolutely adored their “Aunt Sandy.” She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joyce Kidd; and her brothers, Jack Hizer and George “John Buck” Hizer.
Though she has departed this earthly home, Sandra is now reunited in faith with those who went before her. Her legacy of love remains the foundation of her family.
