Norma Jean Balser, 87 of Spangler, WV, passed away on February 22,2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was an active member of the Pond Gap Advent Christian Church for 51 years until the day of her death. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Charles, granddaughter Christina, grandson Corey, great great-grandson Grady Facemyer. She was a lifelong homemaker, but that word isn’t fitting for the respect that she deserves because she was so much more than that. She was the most kind, caring, loving and humble person you could ever meet. Her sweet, bright and cheerful personality always left you with a smile. She was a blessing to everyone she met. Left to cherish her memory are Eugene (Ramona), James (Joan), Wayne (Melissa) all of Pond Gap, Danny (Margie) of Hugheston, Lee (Tammy) and Rick (Scarlet) of Mammoth. She has 12 grandkids, 29 great grandkids, 12 great great-grandkids and one on the way. Services will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 27th at the Pond Gap AC Church with her grandson Matt Balser officiating. Burial will follow the service at Blakeley Cemetery, Blakeley, WV. Visitation will be Thursday February 26th from 6:00 to 8:00pm and Cooke Funeral Home, 600 Old Fort Street, Cedar Grove, WV. 2Timothy 4:7-8 – I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
