David Gregory “Moby” McCumbers, 73, of Glenville, WV, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
He was born in Braxton County, WV, on September 8, 1952, a son of the late Jerry Clydis and Ruby Gladys Miller McCumbers.
Moby had worked at Dowell Schlumberger for 29 years, Flying W Plastics for 5 years, and a few years at Furr’s Auto, as well.
He enjoyed hunting, reading, and spending time with his family. He also really enjoyed playing Spider Solitaire too.
He is survived by his wife Annabell McCumbers; daughters Jennifer Bottenfield (Mark) of Moneta, VA and Jamie McCumbers of Creston, WV; sons Justin McCumbers (Shondra) of Birch River, WV and Randy Volek of Glenville, WV; sisters Kathleen McCumbers of Rosedale, WV, Charlene Stewart (Charlie) of Spencer, WV, Teresa McCumbers of Elizabeth, WV, and Lynn McCumbers of Spencer, WV; grandchildren Gregory Bottenfield (Megan); Nichole Bottenfield Tignor (Wesley), and Malachi McCumbers; and three great-grandchildren.
