Mr. Shawn Adam Blankenship, 47, of Sissonville passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, in CAMC Memorial Division.
Shawn was a 1996 graduate of Capital High School and was known as a hard worker who took pride in all that he did. He had a love for basketball, whether he was playing or watching the game, and he especially cherished the time he spent with his dogs. Above all, Shawn valued his family and the moments they shared together.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Eugene Blankenship.
Shawn is survived by his life partner, Michelle Clapham; his mother, Brenda Lee Cadle; his son, Caleb Blankenship and his mother, Sonya Peck; his sisters, Josie Lynn (Matthew) Cummings and Amber (Rich) Ullom; his brother, Christopher (Michelle) Blankenship; his grandchildren, Sage and Sawyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
A tribute to the life of Shawn will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, March 27, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jay Mace officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation to the funeral home to help cover funeral expenses.
