David Harrison

David Edward Harrison, 78, went home to the Lord on April 13, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Born in Red House, WV on June 7, 1947 to Henry and Helen Harrison. Married to his beloved, Barbara, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1970. After his service, he and Barbara started their family, having two sons, Eric and Aaron. Most of his career was served at Monsanto/Flexsys. 

David was defined by his faith in his Lord Jesus Christ and dedicated his life to furthering the gospel and the church. He faithfully served for over 40 years in various roles at Paradise Bible Church such as elder, deacon, and Sunday School teacher. Additionally, he served as a teacher every summer at Upward Way Youth Camp. His passion was for church missions and served for over 25 years as overseer of the church’s missions program. He continued studying his Bible every day until he was no longer physically able. 

David also found tremendous joy in his family. He spent hours watching his son’s basketball games or taking his granddaughters on day trips through the mountains of West Virginia. He was happiest when surrounded by his family in his home. He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Barbara (Honaker) Harrison. Sons, Eric (Sarah) Harrison of Red House, Aaron (Christi) Harrison of Franklin, Ohio. Grandchildren, Rylie (Evan) Fine of Bridgman, Michigan, Lindsay Harrison of Red House, Delanie (Matt) Wheeler of Franklin, Ohio, Genna Harrison of Red Harrison, Cassidie Harrison of Franklin, Ohio, and Baylie Harrison of Franklin, Ohio, and four great-grandchildren. Brothers, Larry (Cindy) Harrison of Warsaw, Virginia, Dan (Karen) Harrison of Red House, West Virginia, and Tony (Sandi) Moles, of Nitro, West Virginia. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Paradise Bible Church to be used for their missions fund. Checks can be mailed to 481 Antioch Road, WV 25168.

A tribute to the life of David will be held at 2:00 PM Friday April 17, 2026 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Doug McComas and Paul Browning officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House, WV. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
