Mr. Clarence Hedrick, Jr., 87, of Ireland, WV, formerly of Black Betsy, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Clarence was a hardworking man who dedicated many years to Laborers Local #1353 before his retirement. He was also a member of Elijah Chapel Church in Wildcat, WV. In his free time, Clarence found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—hunting, riding four-wheelers, listening to music, and sharing good food with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Donna Hedrick; his son, Brian Scott Hedrick; his parents, Clarence and Hilda Hedrick; his sisters, Shirley Dailey, Linda McFarland, Peggy Steele, and Carolyn Hill; and his brothers, Jimmy, Robert, Judson, Tommy, and Billy Hedrick.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Larry (Donna) Hedrick of Parkersburg and Teresa (Steve) Westcoat of Myrtle Beach; along with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy.
A tribute to Clarence’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor James Legg officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home.
