Jack Lee Overbaugh, 81, of Nitro passed away Monday, July 27, 2026 at CAMC Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
He was born May 17, 1945 in Belle, WV. A son of the late, Grover Cleveland and Rena Francis (Short) Overbaugh. Also preceding him in death are siblings, Clifford, Charles and Everett “Mickey” Overbaugh and Shirley Farren, Delores Rutter, Della Drake and Marie “Mutt” Drake.
Jack was of the Baptist faith and proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he retired as a unit supply specialist.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Charlotte Ann (Hartwell) Overbaugh; children, Bobby Jack Overbaugh, Loretta Lynn Anderson (David Fletcher) and Melissa Wiles; brother, Walter Overbaugh (Carolyn); grandchildren, Bobby Jack, Michael, Andrew, James, Tara, Paul and Brittany; great grandchildren, Lilly, Olivia, Winnie, Maverick and Jackson as well as a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM., Friday, July 31, 2026 at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston. Jack will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston following the service with military honors provided by the WV Honor Guard and Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578.
Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation two hours prior to the service at the mortuary.
