Paul Harvey Williams, (aka Woody), 67, of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
Woody was a 1976 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School. Over the years he worked a variety of jobs that spoke to his hands-on nature and work ethic—Clendenin Lumber, McJunkin Corporation (where he threaded pipe), Simonton Windows (cutting glass), and installing ductwork and heating and cooling units, among others. He was truly a jack of all trades. When he came of age to serve his country, the United States was not under an active draft.
At one time Woody was a member of Elkview Baptist Church. He never met a stranger and found his greatest joy in simply being with his family. He carried a deep love for sports and the outdoors, especially hunting deer, coyotes, and turkeys on the family farm in Doddridge County. He also loved to cook, and his famous meatballs were a particular favorite.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Junior Williams and Utahona Cook Williams.
He is survived by his sisters, Linda Williams of Culloden, Barbara Hanemaayer of Ontario, Calif., and two nieces Heidi (Dan) Clynick and Louisa Hanemaayer, both of Phoenix, Ariz.
A private service will be held.
