Inez M. Drucker, age 87, of Clendenin, WV passed away peacefully at Hubbard Hospice House surrounded by family.
Inez was born at home on Ambler Ridge in Roane County, WV on January 10, 1939, to parents, Herbert Clark and Dorothy Hunt Moore.
Inez graduated from Walton High School and then moved to Washington D.C. where she went to work for the Naval Department. During her time in Washington, she was recruited by the FBI to play basketball for the women’s league. Inez felt a call to serve her country and joined the Marine Corp. where she served proudly. During that time she met her husband and was Honorably Discharged after they were married. She gave birth to 4 children (2 boys – 2 girls). After living in Florida for many years, she moved back to West Virginia and became a teacher’s aide for Kanawha County Schools, working for them from 1974-2004.
During her lifetime she became “Mom and Grandma” to multitudes of people. Inez loved people and welcomed everyone she met into her home as if they were already family. She would always say, “family isn’t just whom you’re related to, they are who you chose to love”, which ended up being everyone she met.
Inez had a deep love for nature and loved spending time on her deck watching the river and feeding her 300 plus hummingbirds every year. She also loved taking her yearly trips to the beach.
Survived by her children; Cindy Drucker of Florida, Sonya Drucker of Clendenin, Terry and Sheila Harper of Falling Rock and Christie (Keith) Shamblin of Clendenin. Siblings; Sunday (John) Blackmon of Gloversville, NY, Tim (Jing Qi) Moore of Lakeland, Fl and “sister” Connie Stricklen of Cottontree, Roane County.
Also survived by multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
