Rachel T. Boone, 76, of Cross Lanes, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital, Charleston.
Rachel was formerly of Roanoke, VA and from the age of nine she was raised in the Lutheran Children’s Home in Salem, VA. Upon becoming independent she learned her trade and her passion of being a dog groomer. After moving to West Virginia, she owned and operated Taylored Pets in Cross Lanes.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years Larry A. Boone, daughter Michelle L. Porterfield and husband Dewey, son Brian E. Taylor and wife Lisa, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, brothers Roy Taylor, and Robert Smith.
Honoring her wishes Rachel will be cremated and the family has honored her life with a private Celebration of Life.
The family requests no flowers and that you donate to your favorite animal shelter in Rachel’s memory.
