Nancy Jane Hodges, 73, of Whitesville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 8, 1953, to the late Jack and Mary Francis Painter.
Nancy spent her adult life as a devoted homemaker and most recently worked at the family-owned grocery store, where she loved showing others how to cook things “the Nancy way.” She was a faithful member of the Sylvester Church of God, where she loved sharing the blessings God had given her and sharing His testimony with others.
Nancy had a deep love for caring for her family and friends and was always willing to step up in their time of need. She devoted her life to caring for others and fulfilling their needs.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark Hodges and David Hodges (Margaret), both of Whitesville, WV; her best friend, Jim Hodges; and her beloved granddaughter, Abigail Hodges, who was the light of her eyes.
Nancy will be remembered for her strong Christian values, kindness, and the love she showered on her family. Her values and the work she did throughout her life will continue to live on through her family and friends.
A tribute to the life of Nancy will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Sylvester Church of God. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
