Betty (White) Jones, 89, of Clendenin, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was a proud graduate of Clendenin High School and West Virginia State University where she earned a master’s degree. She was a retired educator, an active member of Clendenin United Methodist Church, and long served on the Clendenin Library Advisory Board. A woman of deep faith, Betty’s legacy is an enduring example of Christ’s love: grace, wisdom, kindness, strength, and service.
The daughter of the late John and Mildred White, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde (Jay) Jones, and sister, Deloris Shamblin.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her children, Gary Jones (Sheila), Allen Jones, and Gina Young; granddaughters, Chelsea Staley, Caitlin Jenkins (Kyle), Hanna Price (Jeff), Molly Jones, and Allison Terry (Josh); step-grandchildren, Ronnie Keller (Gretchen); and great grandchildren, Henry and Jack Price; Jaden, Charlie, and Boone Terry; and Little Ronnie and Teman Keller. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who brought her immense joy, including her best friend, June Jackson.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Clendenin United Methodist Church with Pastor Stewart Cottrell officiating. Burial will follow at Clendenin Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
