Conard Glen Smith, 75, of Cedar Grove, WV passed away on May 20, 2026.
Conard was born on January 16, 1951, to Joe and Madorma Smith. He was a hardworking man who spent more than 40 years as a mechanic at Walker Machinery, where he built a reputation for dedication, skill, and dependability.
Outside of work, Conard was an avid ball player and loved the game throughout his life. Whether on the field or with family and friends, he carried a competitive spirit, a strong work ethic, and a love for the people around him. He was deeply loved by so many and will be remembered for the life he lived, the love he gave, and the family he helped build.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Madorma Smith; his brother, Bill Smith; his sister, Patsy “Pootsie” Smith Bess; and his brother-in-law, Ira Dillard.
Conard is survived by his children, Glen Smith and his wife, Missy; Josh Sexton and his wife, Brooke; and Nikki Waqas and her husband, Ricky. He is also survived by his brothers, John Smith and his wife, Connie; Robert Smith and his wife, Deborah; Kenny Smith and his wife, Carrol; and his sisters, Ellen Dillard; Susie Glancey; and Cheryl McMillan and her husband, Toby.
He was a proud grandfather to Tyler, Lani, Colton, Myles, Kasyn, Kyndel, Blakelee, Darius, Corey, Daniel, Rayyan, and Alayna, and a great-grandfather to Saylor and Rowey.
Conard also loved his many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and extended family members. His memory will live on through all who knew and loved him.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
Memorial Services will be Saturday June 6th, 2026, at 2 PM at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church 319 East Ward St. Cedar Grove, WV 25039. Cooke Funeral Home, Cedar Grove is serving the Smith family.
