It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scott B. Shores on June 20th, 2026, at a family residence in Palm Beach, FL. Scott was the son of Hoppy and Bronson Shores and was surrounded with family and love during his final moments.

Scott passed peacefully following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s (PSP) disease. He fought the disease with great vigor, courage and resilience, never complaining or allowing its many obstacles to interfere with his passion to live life to its fullest.

He is preceded in death by his father Henry (Hoppy) Shores. He is survived by his mother Ann Bronson Shores, brother Henry (Hoppy) Shores Jr, sister Sherry Akers (Mike), sister Lynn Maddox (John). Nieces include Tayler Valentine (Greg), Audrey Randolph (Chris), Samantha Johnson (Austin) and nephew Austin Akers. Great nieces and nephews include: Walter Valentine, Merritt Valentine, Trudy Hall Valentine, Shores Valentine, Winnie Valentine, Blue Valentine, Sellers Valentine, Saige Johnson, Maddox Johnson, Gwendolyn Randolph and Margot Randolph.

Scott grew up in Charleston, WV where he attended Stonewall Jackson High School. As a

lifelong Mountaineer fan Scott graduated from West Virginia University, earning a degree in

business. Scott would go on to own and manage his family’s insurance business until he retired by the ocean in Palm Beach, FL.

Scott’s many joys in life involved spending time with his family alongside his beloved black

Labrador’s “Midnight” and “Pepper”, You could always find Scott on the weekends enjoying his beloved cabin home located peacefully at the bottom of Snowshoe Mountain alongside the Greenbrier Trail. A perfect Saturday for Scott wouldn’t have been complete without cheering on his West Virginia Mountaineers football team, as sports were one of Scott’s greatest passions.

The family would like to thank Scotts friends for their endless love and friendship for so many years. We would like to also thank the staff at Watercrest Assisted Living, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Kindred Hospital and Trustbridge Nursing Services for such exceptional love and care throughout Scott’s medical journey.
