Carolyn Sue “Memaw” (Jordan) Coleman, 90, of Tornado, WV., passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 7, 1935, in Charleston, WV. Daughter of the late, Virgil and Flavius (Koontz) Jordan. Also preceding her in death are her beloved husband, Daniel G. Coleman; son, Daniel Lee Coleman; granddaughter, Bethany Coleman; stepsister, Delores Burdette.
Memaw was a homemaker and a founding and lifelong member of the Tornado Apostolic Church in Tornado, WV. She was one of a kind, completely devoted to her family, her husband and the church she loved and pastored with her husband for over 42yrs. She was the centerpiece to every family gathering, holiday and those who knew her, a dedicated servant to many in her community. She gave rides to church to many over the years, always tried to make sure if there was a need she gave secretly because to her it was never about the spotlight. She loved her summers at the WV District UPCI campground working in the kitchen for nearly 30 yrs. Memaw was truly a multi-talented woman. She could cook, sew, and tailor clothes, she made many cherished pieces for her kids and grands throughout the years. There will definitely be a void within the family and to the ones that called her friend, she was true blue until the end.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Edward Coleman (Linda), Richard Coleman (Vanessa), Janice L. Hudson (Wilson) and Teresa Easter (Kelly) all of Tornado; beloved grandchildren, Crystal Price (Jarrod), Richard Coleman (Danielle), Danielle Coleman, Jason Harrah (Sarah), Stephanie Erwin (Ronnie), Jennifer Harrah, Anthony Coleman and Sadaria Coleman, Jimmy Woods (Michon); beloved great grandchildren, Blake Harrah, Brock Harrah, Brantlee Erwin, Jaynie Erwin, Londyn Price, Ethan Sammons, Madison Sammons, Brody Sammons, Raelynn Coleman, Peyton Coleman, Autumn Jordan, Owen Harrah, Natalie Harrah, Valerie Harrah and Jaelynn Harrah; beloved great great grandchildren, Lilly Milbee, Violet Milbee, Carter Sammons and Paisley Sammons; stepsister, Betty Reveal and Phyllis Heath as well as a host of other family and friends.
Homegoing celebration will be held at 7:30 PM., Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Tornado Apostolic Church 1100 Gore Additon Road, Tornado, WV 25202 with Rev. Edwin S. Harper and Pastor Wilson Hudson officiating. Memaw will be laid to rest in the Tornado Cemetery beside her beloved husband.
Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation and fellowship Thursday from 5:00-7:30 PM., at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jason Harrah, Ricky Coleman, Ronnie Erwin, Brock Harrah, Blake Harrah and Anthony Coleman.
