Judith “Judy” Ann Raines Young
Judith “Judy” Ann Raines Young, 81, of Pinch, West Virginia, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Born on September 19, 1944, in Charleston, West Virginia, Judy was the beloved daughter of Paul L. Raines and Edith A. Raines. She was preceded in death by her parents, whom she loved dearly.
Judy’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 61 years, Ronald Keith Young, whose life was richly blessed by her love, companionship, and unwavering support. She is also survived by her daughters, Paula Lilly (Aaron) and Stacy Droddy (Johnny); her son, Keith Young; and her cherished grandchildren, Morgan Droddy, Trevor Droddy (Abby), Jason Lilly (Hannah), and Sara Lilly. Judy was especially proud of her role as great-grandmother to Wrenlee Lilly, Koulter Lilly, and Enslee Lilly. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as her bonus granddaughter, Courtney Javins.
Although Judy was an only child, she was warmly embraced by the large family she married into and treasured those relationships throughout her life. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and love. A dedicated homemaker, Judy expressed her care for others through her many talents and passions. She loved cooking meals for family and friends, creating beautiful crafts, tending her garden, and caring for the small herd of deer that faithfully visited her yard for their daily treats.
Judy had a gift for storytelling and never missed an opportunity to share a laugh. Her warm spirit, kind heart, and genuine love for people touched all who knew her. She created countless treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
While her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will endure for generations.
In accordance with her wishes, no memorial service will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston, West Virginia, in gratitude for the compassionate care provided during her final days.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and fondly remembered.
