James “Cecil” Hoffman, 81, of Scott Depot, formerly of Salem, VA., departed this life Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Teays Valley Place with family by his side.
He was born July 31, 1945, in Charleston, WV. Son of the late, James and Wilma (Pitman) Hoffman. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Ralph Hoffman.
Cecil was a United States Army Veteran where he served state side. He was a retired truck driver for Kroger where he was employed for 30 plus years and a member of the Teamsters Union. He was also an Auto Enthusiast owning classic cars, enjoying car shows, and he belonged to the National Street Rods Association.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved children, Jim Hoffman and Melinda Hoffman; his loving companion of 25 years, Mary Patton as well as a host of other family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM., Friday, August 21, 2026, at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes where
Cecil will be laid to rest with Pastor Joey McCutcheon officiating.
Good Shepherd Mortuary, 335 Fifth Avenue, South Charleston, WV 25303 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
