Thomas (Tommy) Edward Wines
It is with significant sadness and disbelief that our family has to announce the death of a father to Halee Wines (Austin Siders), McKenzie Wines & Zachary Moore, a grandfather to Lucas & Audrey (Halee), a son to Alice Wines & Roger (Daphne) Wines, a brother to Buddy (Emily) Wines, Carrie (Tim) Larch & Logan Wines, an uncle to Jeffery (Shellie) Thaxton, Zachary (Brandy) Thaxton, Emmalee (Aaron) Shafer, Liam Wines, Abigayle, Aryel & Arybelle White, a great uncle to Kholson, Rilea, Braylin, Aria, Audrey, Adlee & Jake, and very dear friend to so so many more than can be listed here.
If you knew Tommy and were thought of as his family or friend, you were often greeted with a big smile, or more often, by an ornery grin followed by a big hug. He often told those in his inner circle just how much he truly loved them. He was a gentle giant, unless you crossed a line with anyone he loved. He lived & loved fiercely. Those closest to him probably had a special nickname that he referred to you as followed by hearing his mischievous laugh. Tommy could often be found sitting around a bonfire, fishing or swimming in a favorite spot, dancing around a dance floor (or anywhere else), and living up his life as best he knew how with family & friends.
Tommy was born June 6, 1979 and was 47 years old at the time of his death which occurred suddenly on the evening of September 18, 2026 due to a vehicle accident in his hometown.
Tommy resided in the Elk River Community with his mother whom he cared for deeply and often referred to her as his “best friend”.
The sudden loss and mourning of Tommy is being felt by many more people in the community than the family even believes that he would have imagined. His heart would be full knowing how much he truly meant to each of you. For this reason and many more, the family asks that you take a moment as often as you can to express your feelings to those you hold close in your hearts and LOVE LIKE TOMMY.
Service will be 7:00pm Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Hafer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm, September 24, 2026 at Hafer Funeral Home.
