Mr. John Earnest Davis of Charleston passed away Tuesday October 27, 2026.
John, a funny, eccentric, and truly one-of-a-kind man, passed away at the age of 77.
John was a brilliant man with a personality that made him unforgettable to anyone who met him. He was deeply passionate about political discourse, American history, and planes and flying, and he was a skilled craftsman, marksman, and firearm enthusiast.
Above all, John was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose memory will live on through the generations of family he leaves behind. He is survived by his two daughters, his five grandchildren, and his five great-grandchildren.
Though his family must now face life without his guidance, there is comfort in knowing that John is no longer grieving and has gone home to his wife, Gail, with whom he had a beautiful love story. After decades apart, they are finally reunited.
Rest peacefully, Dad. May the skies be clear, may the history books always hold another story, may your aim always be true, and may you be flying free once more beside your beloved wife.
You will always be loved and never forgotten.
