William Lee Ellis “Bubby Winkle”, 67, of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, April 13, 2026.
William was an amazing God filled man who brought joy wherever her went. He loved everyone, especially his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, and was loved by so many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Mary Shamblin-Ellis; sister, Louella Myers; brother-in-law, Ricky Hager; grandchild, Shawn Jr.; and nephew, Chris Hager;
William is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Tuwana Ellis; daughters, Sonja (Michael) Hall and Elizabeth (Eugene) Mosley; brother, Donald (Alice) Ellis and; sister, Vivian Hager and sister-n-law, Tammy (Eric) Jorgensen, Monica McClure and brother-n-law Sammy McClure Jr; grandchildren, Mikey & Darla, Sammy & Jaiden, Dominique & Kiersten, Tevon, and Kalib; and great-grandchildren, Zander & Aleah.
He loved to spend his days at home with his family. He was always joking and making sure everyone was okay no matter how he was feeling. He fought a hard fight but was ready to be with the Lord. He desired to go home.

Do no let your hearts be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you. And If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
William is home with the Lord now. No more pain, no more suffering, and we to shall go as long as were right with the Lord.
The service will begin 3:00pm, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Hager officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at the funeral home.
