Samuel Dale Wolfe, 78, of Charleston, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 7, 2026. He was welcomed into eternal rest with the loving embrace of Jesus, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever cherished by his family, friends and the Charleston community.
Dale was one tough cookie. He faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, never allowing them to define him. His ability to remain positive and hopeful through every season of life was truly inspiring. He wasn’t just a good father, he was an incredible man. His love, wisdom and strength continue to guide us and his memory brings comfort that we will carry in our hearts forever.
As a proud 1965 graduate of Dupont High School and dedicated U.S. Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, Dale carried a deep sense of honor throughout his life. He later brought that same commitment to a long, fulfilling career with Piedmont and US Airways. Above all, Dale was a devoted member of Dry Branch Community Church, known for his love of family, dedication to his faith and unwavering pride.
As an avid fisherman, Dale found peace in the quiet rhythm of the water, cherishing afternoons spent with his line cast. Beyond the lake, he was a gifted musician whose infectious love for music touched everyone around him. Whether strumming his guitar or singing familiar tunes, his joy brought people together in a way that will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel A. Wolfe and Louise Allen Wolfe; his brother, Ted Wolfe; his brothers-in-law, P.K. Gardner and Bob Shannon and nephews, Mark and Tim Shannon.
His memory lives on through his beloved family: his son, Paul Jason Wolfe (Charleston); his daughter, Amanda Ann Wolfe (Gastonia, NC); his sister, Nancy Shannon; niece, Kimberly Neil (Charleston) and brother-in-law, Eric Gardner (Charleston). He will be forever missed by his devoted, longtime companion, Martha Greene; as well as his grandsons, Mason Wolfe and Austin Lockhart; granddaughter-in-law, Kelcie Carden, and his precious great-granddaughter, Hera Adalay Wolfe. His warmth and kindness remain in the hearts of all the family and friends who loved him.
Dale leaves behind an enduring spirit of faith, love and resilience. The hymns he cherished and the seeds of faith he planted continue to grow in our hearts, shaping the way we live, love and serve. We strive to honor his memory by living with integrity, showing kindness to others and finding joy in life’s simple blessings. We thank God for the gift of our Daddy—a man who feared the Lord and taught us to do the same. We find peace in knowing he is now singing with the angels, safely home in God’s embrace.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle with Pastor Dana Clay officiating. Family visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with friends welcome from 6 to 8 p.m.
Please join us as we gather to lay him to rest at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes. The service will be led by dear friends, Dana Clay, Kristen Doss and Donald Fleck.
Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to Dry Branch Community Church in Charleston for Dale’s Dinner to share a meal and continue honoring his memory.
